sharing knowledge on bat identification, research and protection

A new initiative trying to build a platform that brings together bat enthusiasts and bat researchers.

One could argue that plenty of bat related sites exist already but many of these sites:

  • are very limited in their regional scope;
  • are behind membership paywalls or otherwise difficult to access;
  • have not been updated or expanded in a long while;
  • are poorly organized;
  • do not offer authoritative resources for the bat study beginners;
  • do not include bat protection either narrowly or broadly defined in their outlook;
  • fail to bring people together for meaningful collaborations

I could have mentioned that most of the time the joy of bat study is entirely smothered in the usual surliness of forum validators and the aggressive posturing of know-it-all types etc. Batforum.org seeks to keep that original joy alive and expects its user base to do the same.

This is our first “Hello World!” message but we are still very busy setting up the site and forum. Please check back soon.
